PROVENCE Cassis is built around a horse-shoe bay which is crammed with fishing boats and pleasure craft. Its little harbour is about as picturesque as it gets. Clos des Arômes is charmingly unsophisticated with a super ambience and an ever-friendly owner. The attractive rooms are small and have ceiling fans instead of a/c. Try to book one that’s been newly renovated, preferably (côté jardin) overlooking the courtyard which is romantically lit by lanterns in the evening...
