A pleasant surprise to find this handsome hotel with a garden and parking in such a convenient situation right in the heart of Amboise. Outdoor space is a bit of a squeeze but somehow the ensemble works well – due in no small measure to the engaging staff.
The accommodation has been recently renovated and varies in size and price. All bedrooms and suites manage to be both smart and discreetly refined. Understated elegance characterises the downstairs sitting area, too, akin to a country house that has been nudged gently into the 21st century.
Of course one cannot expect total tranquillity in a town centre hotel but windows are double-glazed, rooms are air-conditioned so that any traffic noise is unlikely to detract from the charm of this immaculate hotel.
