The Hotel la Jabotte is charming, intimate and unpretentious. Thanks to its setting on a narrow lane in a chic residential area, it is quiet despite being only 60m from the beach-front road that circles the cape. Sometimes, at night, the only sound is the sea. Restaurants are within walking distance, as is the old town of Antibes (about 15 - 20 minutes on foot or take the free shuttle bus to/from the train station).
The new owners are Nathalie and Pierre. A stay at la Jabotte is akin to being invited into their home. You’ll gather that a great deal of care goes into their hospitality, whether it is those little touches that enhance the décor or, at breakfast time, the pretty china, home-made jams and the different daily ‘goodie’ that they add for your delectation.
Accommodations are small (think titchy) and simple but each is individually furnished with a small shower room. Apart from the 1st floor suite, all are to be found behind the reception at ground level in two wings, separated by a little citrus-shaded patio. Flowers abound and help to expand this confined space into a mellow, soothing venue for pre-dinner aperitifs after your return from the sandy beach.
La Jabotte is a lovely ‘dolls house’ hotel that cossets its guests with kindness – a genuine oasis of affordability amid the dignified exclusivity that is Cap d’Antibes.
