This tiny hotel is a recent conversion within a 17th century town house. Its ultra-convenient location (between the Tuileries Gardens and the Louvre) has considerable charm and character. BUT gentlemen be warned: the Rue du Faubourg St-Honoré (where Hermès, YSL, Versace et al discreetly line the pavements) is only a few hundred yards to the west so arm yourself with a fistful of credit cards or gently steer your good lady in the opposite direction.
The accommodations are on five floors, with a couple of suites at the top and standard rooms (half the size of the suites) below. Most of the bedrooms have exposed beams that have been painted in strong colours to coordinate with the bedspreads. The housekeeping is immaculate, the bathrooms are good and no expense has been spared with the towels and linen. But space in all but the suites is not particularly generous, given the rates charged. Breakfast is served in your room and must be ordered the night before if required.
